Sidhe Pahad Se - Nettle & Rhododendron Mountain Teas

Local VoicesCulture

The name is the whole business plan: sidhe pahad se, straight from the mountains. No long supply chain, no anonymous warehouse. Leaves and flowers that grew wild on a hillside, dried, packed, and sent down.

The stinging nettle (kandali) makes a tea the hills have always drunk; the rhododendron (buransh, the red flower that sets whole slopes alight in spring) makes another. Around them gather Kumaoni herbs, spices, and handicrafts.

Brew a cup and you are drinking a particular altitude, a particular season. Clean, wild, honest.

Field note “These teas taste exactly like the Himalayas, clean, wild, and honest. The rhododendron tea is unlike anything you will find in a store.”
