Keylong spends half the year wrapped in snow, three thousand metres up in the Lahaul valley. Winters there are long enough to learn patience, or to place ten thousand dots, one at a time, until a mandala appears.

Angevil Art Studio works in exactly that spirit: hand-drawn dot mandalas, bookmarks, and Soltags (the traditional good-luck tags of the region), drawing on Buddhist and Himalayan artistic traditions. Nothing is printed; everything is placed.

The pieces are small, but they carry the stillness of the valley they were made in. You can feel the altitude in every dot.
